Comrades,
Over the course of the past weeks we were overwhelmed by the crippling reality that the world we lived in, the world as we knew it, was being disrupted and our existence as a race – the human race- threatened by a deadly virus we had no idea of defeating.
As days went by, we were faced with stories from around the world reporting the number of lives being lost in hundreds of thousands and more people getting infected; it seemed like there was no end to this plague insight.
On this side of the world, we were more worried for our Continent and most especially our dear Country Nigeria; with the below standard health care systems across the country, corruption, ignorance, poverty, religious biases already eating deep into the fabrics of society and posing great threats to lives of citizens, we realized that the only way through fighting against this menace was to put aside every form of division, ethnicity, religious sentiments and most importantly, to allay every form of fear and doubt of conquering the pandemic that was staring us in the face.
We understood that we were in this fight together and the only weapon we had was unity as a people. Thus, the idea for the Community Stakeholders for Social Good (CS4SG) was birthed.
Under the CS4SG, individuals, corporate organizations, civil groups came together in one voice and effort to create awareness, sensitize and alleviate the deficiencies in the society that would militate against a successful fight of the virus.
