Under the CS4SG, individuals, corporate organizations, civil groups came together in one voice and effort to create awareness, sensitize and alleviate the deficiencies in the society that would militate against a successful fight of the virus.
To avoid or prevent the same vulnerable group of people from being affected by the next crisis – be it a new outbreak, unexpected increase in commodity prices, or a poor harvest due to unfavorable weather events or pest infestation – the resilience and the capacity of rural people and rural communities to cope with shocks needs to be strengthened.
Our greatest concern is the potential for the virus to spread to villages with less information, weaker health systems, and which are ill-prepared to deal with it.
